Audience Research - Harpreet
Demographics:
  • We decided the target audience would be female, between the age of 14-25. This is because the protagonists of our film is young females, therefore the audience can relate themselves to the characters. Although we are aiming at females, male can also enjoy and be entertained by watching 'bite me' as its a comedy, horror hybrid. With little romance and lots of action and humour.
  • As the characters are university students, we thought it would be a good idea to aim the movie on students, because they would related to the characters better . However Bite me is a feel good film especially for employers as they can also watch it and it can be stress reliving for them
  • The ethnicity could be any, as we thought it didn't matter much because the movie would appeal to any ethics, but for class, we chose to aim at lower middle class, because they would be the best fitted in that category, as we don't think higher class would be interested in watching a movie like bite me.
  • The location for our target audience would be in America/England as our movie is not a typical british film, so it can appeal to both, also we can use both british and american jokes in bite me, whilst making the movies. This is would make it more relevant to American and British.

Psychographics:

Our target audience should be interested in comedy, horror films with a lot of action. Their lifestyle should be outgoing and socially active. A person with a good sense of humour, that is sporty, tomboyish would enjoy the movie a lot as they would have similar personality, values and lifestyle to the protagonist of this film.

Rating - Manisha

Mindmap-SCI
Our film is catagorised as 12A, the reason for this is because there are elements in the openeing sequence which could disturbed younger audiences. However there are no explicit scenes which would terrify children ages 12. If there are audiences younger than 12 they must be accompanied by an adult as parents may not want their children watching such films.

The scene at the end of the sequence is the vampire creeping up on the victim has dark lighting and a 'scream' which could distress very young people. Only this scene is frightening therefore 'scary' moments are irregular making it reasonably suitable for 12 year olds.

Younger audinces would also enjoy the comedy elements in this sequence for example the scene where both characters Flare and Bree are watching televison (the animated movie Glitterboy 3), the animation itself is comedy along with Flare's expressions.

There is no dangerous or extreme violence, weapons, behaviour or nudity in this sequence again making it suitable for this rating of 12A.
